Musical instruments like pianos, violins, and guitars are made of wood to get the best sound quality and JVC is now applying the same methods to speaker design. JVC's Woodcone series speakers use what the name implies, wooden speaker cones.
JVC says that the wooden speaker cones deliver natural acoustics for a superior listening experience. The light color speaker cones are made from birch and look great offset by the dark cherry wood cabinet of the speakers.
The speakers are a 2-way, 3-speaker bass reflex design with two 10.5cm wood cone woofers and one 2cm wood dome tweeter. The magnets are high-energy Neodymium for the tweeter as well. The frequency range is 50Hz to 50 kHz and they are magnetically shielded. Both bookshelf and tower versions are available and pricing starts at $1299 for the bookshelf version and goes up to $1699 per pair for the tower version.
